The Longfield girls have being playing brilliantly as a team! They had a real battle in the first round of the county cup competition against Cardinal Hume School, which finished 3-3 at full time; 5-5 at the end of extra time and finished with penalties. It was the last penalty taken that secured a win for the Longfield girls and this qualified them to play in the cup final on the 30th April 2019.
The cup final game was against St Bede’s School, Lanchester and this was the girls first ever county cup game. They rose to the challenge winning 10-1, a momentous achievement which saw them awarded with a trophy dating back to 1997!
They have shown fantastic team work and resilience and we hope they inspire younger pupils and encourage them to give football a go. Well done team, we are so proud!
